John Farkas was an Electrical Engineer with Bell South. As a Support Manager with Bell South, he promoted liaison between utilities and governmental agencies. He was seen as "Bridge Builder" between utilities. He was a bilingual employee who understood all aspects of communication and was a firm believer in the four C's of Liaison: Coordination, Communication, Cooperation and Commitment.
The by-laws of the Florida Utilities Coordinating Committee authorizes this award and states the award is presented to a member who demonstrates commitment to the betterment of utility coordination through actions and leadership, and is subject to the following:
